Collective Good Foundation, its subsidiaries, and branch operations hereinafter referred as ‘CGF’, ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’ is committed to respect your privacy and choices. The statement highlights our privacy practices regarding ‘Information’ that we collect and store about you through this website and also for the ‘Information’ that you provide us while participating in our initiatives.

I. Nomenclature

  • CGF refers to Collective Good Foundation, the nodal agency responsible for execution of the WASH Platform and Swachh Maharashtra Grand Challenge and authors this Privacy Policy.
  • GC refers to Swachh Maharashtra Grand Challenge (also referred as “Grand Challenge”, “Initiative”) and is a part of the WASH Platform. WASH Platform refers to The Water, Sanitation and Hygiene platform (knows as “WASH Platform”, “Platform”) is a joint initiative between CGF, India Sanitation Coalition (ISC), Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), and CEPT University
  • Website or Site refers to the website links mentioned above.
  • Information refers to all data collected though this website.

II. Personal Information we collect and process and how we use it.

For the purposes of this privacy statement, 'Personal Information' is any data which relates to an individual and/or organisation that may be identified from that data, or from a combination of a set of data, and other information which is in possession of CGF.

In general, you may browse our website without providing any Personal Information about yourself.

We collect your personal information through

(i) Information that you provide via our website, including information you provide when you register on our website including but not limited to name, mailing address, email address(es), designation, company, country and telephone number; We collect personal information about you through various channels, including, without limitation: - by registering an account with us - by filling out a form or survey - by posting a comment - by signing up for an e-mail newsletter - by e-mailing us - by contributing to an article published on our website

In case you choose to author and/or contribute to any posts (including but not limited to co-author, commenting, sharing) that we have published on our website, the name and email address you enter with your comment will be saved to this website’s database, along with your computer’s IP address and the time and date that you authored and/or contributed. This information is used to identify you as a contributor by CGF and it’s affiliates. If you choose not to provide information that is mandatory to the process of GC, to process your request, or any other service or support we provide, we will not be able to provide the corresponding service.

We share your Personal Information with the following, without limitation:

  • CGF or with any of its subsidiaries;
  • Affiliates;
  • Partners;
  • Service vendors;
  • Authorized third-party agents; and/or
  • Contractors

We may share your personally identifiable information as required by, or permitted by law. This may include sharing your personally identifiable information with governmental entities, or third parties in response to subpoenas, court orders, other legal process, or as we believe is necessary to exercise our legal rights, to defend against legal claims that have been brought against us, or to defend against possible legal claims that we determine in our sole discretion might be brought against us.

We may also report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we reasonably believe to be unlawful, or that we reasonably believe may aid a law enforcement investigation into unlawful activity.

We may also share your personally identifiable information if we determine, in our sole judgment, that the release of your information may protect the rights, property, or safety of you or another person. In this instance we may share your information with law enforcement or any other person or entity we determine, in our sole judgment, may be able to protect you or the other person. We may also report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we reasonably believe to be unlawful, or that we reasonably believe may aid a law enforcement investigation into unlawful activity. In addition to the above, the user is subject to the Terms and Conditions for the Grand Challenge and the Terms of Sharing of information mentioned in the same.

VII. Access, correction, objection of your Personal Information

CGF reserves the right to withdraw the features of allowing users to view and modify the information as it deems fit

View: You will currently be able view certain information submitted by you through the registration process, application forms which include “Step 1: Complete Organisation Profile” and “Step 2: Read Problem Statement and Submit Proposals”. You will not be able to view any other data submitted by you, which may include, but not be limited to, data submitted in the contact forms.

Modify: You will currently be able to modify the data submitted by you through the Sign Up process via the “Account Information” page which will include your name, password, phone number, location, twitter handle and linkedin profile. However, a user will not be able to modify the Email ID with which they have registered. Additionally, a user will be able to modify the information that has been provided via web pages which include, but not limited by “Step 1: Complete Organisation Profile” and “Step 2: Read Problem Statement and Submit Proposals” until they have submitted the form. Once the jury process begins, users will be able to view, but will not be able to modify the data they have submitted.

VIII. Data security

Whenever we obtain your personal information, we will use reasonable practices to protect your personal information from unauthorized access or disclosure. While we will use such efforts, we cannot and will not act as insurers of the security of your personal information. We assume no liability for any disclosure of data which may be due to, but not limited to, errors in transmission, unauthorized third party access or other acts of third parties, or acts or omissions beyond our reasonable control

IX. Data retention

Personal Information can be retained for a period as CGF deems fit to fulfill, including, but not limited to the following:

  • purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and Terms and Conditions
  • directly related legitimate business purposes
  • in case required by law

X. Updates to this privacy policy

We reserve the right to change, add, subtract, update or amend all or any part of this Policy at any time without notice to you. We will post any updated Policy on this Site and each version of this Policy will be identified at the top of this page by its effective date. By visiting and/or using this Site after the changes to this policy, you are deemed to have agreed to the said new terms and conditions / terms of use and privacy policy. We will not be held responsible for any consequences resulting due to our users and clients not being up to date with the latest policy.

XI. Host location

The website is presently being hosted in Bangalore on a third party server owned by Digital Ocean. This website doesn’t fall under the jurisdiction of GDPR.
